Directly overlooking the shores of Lake Maggiore and equipped with a small pier, Techbau Company’s new office building develops from the understanding of the context, establishing a strong interaction with the site both in terms of shape and choice of materials. The risk of flooding suggested an elevated construction. The building is thus like a stilt house, a stunning architecture surrounded by green trees and overlooking the lake. The prefabricated exposed structure in concrete is built with beams and pillars arranged in a regular way. The mirrored façade reflects the surrounding environment, while at the end of each of the buildings there are large open terraces, where the height of the roof rises to create real visual telescopes, with a direct connection with the natural environment.
The offices are designed with great flexibility to ensure well-being and an excellent working performance, with a careful balance in the use of natural and artificial light both in the workstations and in the common areas, thus promoting a high livability of the whole building.
The glazed facades in fact guarantee great transparency in the interiors, connecting to the surrounding vegetation. This atypical headquarters guarantees users to fully relate to the surrounding environment, because it is based on a spatial concept that does not create boundaries between indoors and outdoors. An architecture that seems to float on the lake.
