STATEMENT of JURY
The adaptive re-use of a now-defunct aeroplane factory into a contemporary working hub for a high-end fashion house is characterised – in the architect’s own words – by its silence. Through careful research and an admirable lack of ego, the architects have managed to bring an important piece of Italy’s industrial past back to life. The careful and innovative programming reflects the diversity and complexity of a working campus. Like the best local interventions, the effects are beginning to spill out into its surrounds.
