After a long design process started in 2007, the extension of the Collegio di Milano is now almost completed. Designed by Marco Zanuso in the 60s, the Collegio di Milano is included in large green park, in the southern part of Milan. The expansion project, conceived by Piuarch, establishes a strong relationship with the existing building and its characteristics: façades, chromatic scheme and the organic shape. The new building is composed by 50 housing units and is developed as a continuous three-dimensional strip, whose elevations are articulated on the basis of square openings with different sizes that allow sunlight to filter into the interior spaces.
